The grating in a swimming pool is mainly used around the edges, especially near overflow channels. Its main purposes are: Drain water safely: When water splashes out or the pool overflows, the grating lets the water drain into a hidden channel instead of flooding the deck. Prevent accidents: It covers the drain channels so people don’t trip, slip, or get their feet stuck. Keep the area clean: By letting the water (and dirt with it) flow into the drains, it helps keep the deck around the pool dry and tidy. They’re usually made from strong plastic or stainless steel to handle wet conditions and a lot of foot traffic.
